Out of an abundance of caution, LRTA has decided to POSTPONE the 2020 LRTA Spring Meeting until further notice. Based on guidelines from the Center for Disease Control limiting social gatherings to 50 people or less for the next 8 weeks and the current spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), LRTA Executive Director Rodney Watson and LRTA State President Nancy Quigley made the decision to postpone the meeting.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. The health and safety of our members is our primary concern. The LRTA staff worked extensively with the Natchitoches Events Center and Chateau St. Denis Hotel to accommodate those who have already registered for the 2020 Spring Meeting. If you registered for the meeting, please read the following information:
LRTA plans to host the 2020 Spring Meeting at a later date when all emergency statuses and bans have cleared. Once a date is confirmed for the rescheduled Spring Meeting, we will share that information with our members through the LRTA website, Facebook page and Email Club. Please DO NOT make hotel reservations for the rescheduled meeting at this time. We will communicate with our members when it is appropriate to begin making hotel room reservations and re-registering for the rescheduled meeting.
Please note: the LRTA Spring Newsletter will contain information about the 2020 LRTA Spring Meeting. The newsletter went to press production before the decision to postpone the meeting was made. Please disregard any information about the Spring Meeting in the newsletter.
LRTA will continue to provide regular legislative updates once the Louisiana Legislature reconvenes. We will produce a series of videos and web posts at www.lrta.net to provide informational resources for this session. Stay tuned for more information.
At this moment in time, we need to continue to practice social distancing in an effort to protect ourselves and others around us. Please stay safe and remain vigilant.
Regards,
Rodney R. Watson
LRTA Executive Director
