Retired Teachers Enjoy Valentine’s Day Meeting with Assistant Superintendent

(Baton Rouge, La.)- Local retired teachers gathered on Feb. 14 at Frank’s Restaurant in Prairieville to hear from Ascension Parish Schools Assistant Superintendent A. Denise Graves. Susan Jordan, a representative from the Senior Medicare Patrol, also spoke with the group.

Graves spoke with the Ascension Retired Teachers Association about the population growth in Ascension Parish and its impact on the school system. She also discussed the upcoming tax renewals Ascension residents will see on the ballot on March 30. Jordan discussed recent changes in Medicare and how Medicare recipients can avoid becoming victims of fraud.

The Ascension RTA is a local unit of retired teachers who live or taught in Ascension Parish. The group is affiliated with the state organization, the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association. Ascension RTA will hold its next meeting on March 14 at 10 a.m. at Frank’s Restaurant in Prairieville. Local retired educators are invited to attend and learn more about the organization.
