Jerilyn Williams

Mrs. Jerilyn S. Williams, District II President

Mrs. Jerilyn “Jerry” Stewart Williams earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Education degree concentrating in administration and supervision with a minor in guidance from Nicholls State University. In addition, Mrs. Jerry earned +30 hours of credit in library science from Louisiana State University.

She began her teaching career as a Reading and Language Arts teacher in St. Mary Parish in 1976. Later on, she became a librarian and English teacher at Assumption High School and served as an Assumption Parish School Board member. Her other administrative roles included assistant principal at Napoleonville Primary School, principal at Pierre Part Middle School and Director of Student Services and Child Welfare and Attendance.

Mrs. Jerry has been an active member of LRTA since 2010. She served as the Assumption Parish Retired Teacher president from 2011-2018. She will now serve as the vice president for the APRTA. Mrs. Jerry was previously a member of the LRTA 2017 Nominations Committee.

She is also an active member in her community. Mrs. Jerry was the secretary and is now the financial secretary at the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary Court #23. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Assumption Council on Aging, works with the Associate Missionaries of St. Paul, and is the Director of Religious Education, administrative assistant and lector for St. Benedict the Moor Parish.

Mrs. Jerry is married to Percy Williams and has one son, Douglas Williams. Douglas served in the Air Force, and he now lives in England with his four children. Mrs. Jerry enjoys reading, taking pictures, working with youth and traveling.
