Genevieve Gordon

Mrs. Genevieve Gordon, District VIII President

Mrs. Genevieve Armstrong Gordon earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business education and a Master of Science degree from Northwestern State University. She also earned a Certificate in Education Specialist concentrating in administration and supervision from Louisiana State University.

Mrs. Genevieve was a Business teacher for 13 years and served as principal for nine years. She was a supervisor/assistant superintendent for nine years and served as an adjunct professor at her alma mater for four years. Mrs. Genevieve retired in 2006 after 31 years of experience as an educator.

Mrs. Genevieve has been an active LRTA member for nine years. In addition to serving as LRTA District VIII president, she was previously the Sabine RTA president. Mrs. Genevieve was the recipient of the Horace G. Robinson Lifetime Membership Award in Spring 2014 and the LRTA Name of Fame honoree in Fall 2014.

Mrs. Genevieve is the wife of Allen F. Gordon and has a blended family of three children, Chris, Britta and Dennis. She has the best job ever as grandmother to Alyse, Victoria, Rowan, Luke, Dennison and Sawyer. She is an active member with Aimwell Baptist Church, where she is the assistant Sunday School superintendent and assistant Sunday School teacher and serves on the Audit, Personnel and Cemetery committees. Mrs. Genevieve is also the owner of Gen’s Collectibles, which has 3 locations. In addition, she works with Leaders Against Litter to keep Sabine clean. Mrs. Genevieve and Mr. Al love to travel, especially during the months of June, July and August (in search of cooler weather). She also uses this time as an opportunity to restock the shelves of the three booths for Gen’s Collectibles.
