Ivy P. Mouton

Mrs. Ivy P. Mouton, District VI President

Ivy Mouton earned her Bachelor of Science degree in business education and Master of Education degree in business education from McNeese State University. She began her career in Calcasieu parish as a secretary at Mossville High School and later became a fourth-grade math teacher and business education teacher at Bethune High School and business education teacher at Jennings High School.

Ivy completed her career in Calcasieu parish teaching at Alfred M. Barbe High School, LaGrange High School and Vinton High School. She was a business education teacher and a supervisor for student teachers. She was also the sponsor for the Future Business Leaders of America Club.

Since retirement, Ivy has been an active member of LRTA. She is a past member of the LRTA Nominating Committee. Prior to becoming president of District VI, Ivy Mouton served as second vice-president and chair of its nominating committee. She is also very involved in her local Unit, the Calcasieu Parish Unit of Retired Teachers (CPURT). She also serves as chaplain and past president for her Unit and previously served as Treasurer and Financial Secretary.

Ivy also remains an active member of the education community. She is the past president of the Louisiana Association of Business Educators and is also a member of the McNeese State University Alumni Association and the McNeese State University Black Alumni Association. She is the past president of the Lake Charles Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the Lake Charles Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. In November 2022 she was named the Senior Diva for the Lake Charles Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. She is also involved with the Women Mission Union at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church.
