Senator Barrow Peacock will speak to LRTA members at the 2018 Fall Meeting in Bossier City. Senator Peacock is entering his second term as senator and chairman of the Senate Retirement Committee. He is the Senate President’s designee on the Public Retirement Systems’ Actuarial Committee and the Tobacco Settlement Financing Corporation Board. He has served on the Retirement Committee since his first term.
Senator Peacock earned a bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University and a master’s degree from Louisiana State University. In 2017, he was honored with the Friend of Education award from Delta Kappa Gamma Society of Key Women Educators. He visited every public school (40) in his district during his first term and returned more than $43,788.54 in unused allotted district office expense to the state since being in office.
