Arlene Prince Johnson, District II President

Arlene Prince Johnson is a life long resident of New Orleans, Louisiana. She’s a Proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Arlene was educated in Parochial and Public Schools in the New Orleans area. She is a Dillard University Graduate, New Orleans, Louisiana, University of New Orleans( UNO), New Orleans, Louisiana, Graduate Studies, Kappa Delta Epsilon Education Honor Society. 

She was employed in the Jefferson Parish School System for 34 years and Bryman College for 3 years (Admissions). Arlene is a Faithful parishioner of All Saints Catholic Church, New Orleans, Louisiana, where she serves in many capacities, Eucharistic Ministers, Lector, Commentator, Trailblazers Ministry and daily Rosary/Prayer Group. Her past service, Pastoral Parish Council 12 years, Church Anniversary Committee and Outreach Ministry.

Arlene has been an active member of LRTA since her retirement in 2004. She served as President of Jefferson Retired Teachers Association, INC., (JRTA-2012-2015), LRTA District 11 2nd Vice President, 1st Vice President and recently elected, without opposition, to serve as District 11 President, 2026. She currently serves as Legislative Chair for both District 11 and JRTA. She’s a former member of  District 11 Nominating Committee.

Arlene is  always visible and an active Participant at all LRTA and District 11 Spring and Fall Meetings. Also, she has made many trips from New Orleans to Baton Rouge, during State Legislative Sessions, in the name of LRTA, lending support to make “our voices“ heard! Arlene is actively involved in other Professional, Fraternal and Social Organizations. She states, she is most proud of her affiliation and full membership in the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary, St. Rita Court#36 and Knights of Peter Claver Meritorious Ladies of Grace, M.L. Lunnon Grand Chapter#4 of New Orleans, Louisiana where she has served as Vice Grand Lady, Audit Board Member, Mistress of Arms, various committees member, Delegate to National  Conventions and Louisiana State Conferences. She received the Honor of being selected  “Gracious Lady of the Year 2026”. Arlene is a former member of NABSE (National Alliance of Black School Educators, Ochsner Healthcare Systems, Board member,  Patient Research Advisory Board (PRAB), Ochsner Community Advisory Network( OCAN).

Also, former member of Ochsner Golden Opportunity Senior Group. Arlene dotted, she loved the travel time to various US cities and Canada. She’s an AARP volunteer, having served as a Reimagined Life Coach. Arlene is a member of Algiers Historical Society(New Orleans, Louisiana). Arlene shares, she cherishes her “Assignments” as an Officer and member of LRTA and the Genuine Friendships she has made over the past 22 years.
