Louisiana education retirees are invited to attend the LRTA State Fall Meeting on October 26-27, 2026. The meeting will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bossier City. LRTA will hold a variety of informational sessions exploring topics such as the future of Louisiana retirement and what to expect in the coming year for legislation, avoiding scams, choosing financial caregivers and preventing identify theft. We welcome guest speakers Representative Chris Turner, Assistant Vice President Blaine Hodges with Community Bank of Louisiana, Insurance Commissioner Tim Temple and TRSL Executive Director Katherine Whitney.

We will present the Name of Fame Awards to honorees for Districts 10 and 11 , as well as distribute our annual Unit Challenge Awards. We are celebrating planting seeds for growth since 1956 in honor of LRTA’s 70th anniversary.

Attendees must pre-register for the banquet meal by October 16. Although on-site registration is available, pre-registration will ensure that you receive a packet containing your name tag and other meeting materials upon arrival. Delayed mail received by the LRTA office through the USPS may affect your registration being received by the deadline.
