Roxanne O. Lagarde

Roxanne O. Lagarde, District III President

Roxanne O. Lagarde, hails from the north shore in Covington, Louisiana. As the President of District III, she aims to bring retirees together to support new membership efforts and enhance the retirement experience through fellowship and support. Roxanne feels that she has always been at her professional and personal best when engaged in meaningful causes: education, teaching, and family to name a few. Roxanne retired from the St. Tammany Parish School System in 2013 with thirty-two years of experience as an educator, twenty-seven of those in St. Tammany Parish. She served her students and community at multiple levels at St. Tammany Parish.

She began her career as a teacher, moving to administration as a middle school principal in Covington and Mandeville, and ultimately, retiring as a supervisor of curriculum and instruction at the district level. With each career phase, she considered it a privilege to work alongside teachers and the parental community, supporting all students. Never one to skip a beat, Roxanne joined the local St. Tammany Retiree Unit upon retirement, where she served two terms as President and held various duties and positions within the organization.

At the LRTA level, she has volunteered as a committee member and served as past chairman of the LRTA Budget Committee. She remains active in her community through her non-profit work and women’s educational society membership. For Roxanne, balancing her altruistic work with quality family time is critical to enjoying her retirement. Roxanne and her husband, Jules, are incredibly proud of their four adult daughters and their families. The highlight of retirement is “making memories” with their six beautiful grandchildren.
