Louisiana Retired Teachers Association Says Aloha to Alexandria for Spring Meeting

(Baton Rouge, La.)- The Louisiana Retired Teachers Association is hosting its annual spring meeting in Alexandria from April 24-25, 2018. This year’s meeting, Aloha, LRTA!, will be held at the Holiday Inn located on 701 Fourth Street.

The spring meeting serves as an opportunity for retired educators around the state to connect with one another. This meeting will also include an update from the Teachers’ Retirement System of Louisiana (TRSL), and updates on the 2018 legislative sessions. The LRTA Executive Board will meet at 1:30 p.m. on April 24, 2018, followed by a pre-convention dinner beginning at 6:30 p.m. General sessions begin at 9:00 a.m. on April 25, 2018 and will conclude with a luncheon.

Registration for the conference is free, and the LRTA encourages attendees to pre-register. On-site registration is available, although attendance at meal functions is by pre-reservation only. Attendees can register for the meeting through the LRTA website or by mail.

In addition, the LRTA is offering a hotel room convention group rate at the Holiday Inn. The special rate is $97 a night, plus tax and ends on April 9, 2018. To make a room reservation, attendees can call the Holiday Inn directly at (318) 541-8333 and ask to book a room under the “LA Retired Teachers block.” Room reservations can also be made online at alexandriaholidayinn.com. Attendees should enter the code LRT and the dates for their stay.
