LRTA Receives We Care Grant

The Louisiana Retired Teachers Association is the recipient of the We Care Grant through the National Retired Teachers Association. NRTA is considered the education community of AARP.

NRTA will provide grants up to $3,000 to retired educator associations through June 30, 2020. These grants are available to retired educator associations across the country to support virtual member engagement throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

“LRTA and AARP have partnered to extend a message of health and safety to our members across the state,” says LRTA Executive Director Rodney Watson. “As Louisiana reopens under Phase I, we encourage our members to stay safe and to stay home.”

Through this grant, LRTA will launch its “LRTA Cares” campaign that will focus on virtual member engagement through the LRTA website, Facebook page and Email Club.

The Louisiana Retired Teachers Association is a nonprofit membership organization devoted to protecting and enhancing benefits for individuals receiving retirement benefits from the Teachers’ Retirement System of Louisiana. For more information about LRTA or this meeting, visit www.lrta.net.
