Feature a Speaker: Dana Vicknair

Dana L. Vicknair is the director of the Teachers’ Retirement System of Louisiana (TRSL). She provides executive leadership and management to the retirement system, which has more than
$19 billion in assets and serves more than 180,000 members.

Ms. Vicknair joined TRSL in 1995 and was chief financial officer for six years before her appointment to assistant director in 2004. She became TRSL director in 2017.

Before joining TRSL, Ms. Vicknair worked as an accountant for the Louisiana State Employees’ Retirement System (LASERS) and was responsible for the oversight of membership eligibility, contribution reporting, contribution refunds, and service credit purchases.

Ms. Vicknair received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA. She is a member of the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) and has served on its Committee on Retirement and Benefits Administration. She is also a member of the organization, Women in Management.
