(Baton Rouge, La.)- The Louisiana Retired Teachers Association is back in Alexandria to host its annual spring meeting from April 30 – May 1. This year’s meeting, “Up, up and away LRTA!,” will be held at the Holiday Inn located on 701 Fourth Street.
The spring meeting serves as an opportunity for retired educators around the state to connect with one another. Attendees will also receive important updates about the organization as well as the upcoming legislative session.
The LRTA Executive Board will meet at 1:30 p.m. on April 30, followed by a banquet dinner at 6:30 p.m. The general session will begin at 9 a.m. on May 1. Dana Vicknair, director of the Teachers’ Retirement System of Louisiana, will provide an update on the retirement system. Vicknair will also discuss potential legislation that could impact the state retirement systems.
This event is open to the public, and registration for the conference is free. On-site registration is available, though guests must pre-register for meal functions. LRTA encourages attendees to pre-register for the meeting through its website or by mail. Online registration and downloadable registration forms are available at lrta.net.
In addition, LRTA is offering a hotel room convention group rate at the Holiday Inn. The special rate is $96 a night, plus tax and ends on April 15.
