LRTA Announces 2020-2022 Executive Committee

The Louisiana Retired Teachers Association is pleased to announce the incoming District Presidents and the LRTA Executive Committee for the 2020-2022 term.

 

LRTA District Presidents:

District I – Theodore George

*District II – Jerilyn Williams

District III – Alva Martin

*District IV – Jevella Williamson

District V – Celina Richard

*District VI – Ivy Mouton

District VII – Walter Rogers

District VIII – Genevieve Gordon

District IX – Freddy Rivers

District X – David Gullatt

District XI – Jerry Paige

 

*These Districts accepted the slate of officers presented by their individual Nominating Committees and the Districts Presidents were elected by acclamation.

The LRTA Executive Committee includes the elected officers of the association, the immediate Past-President and the District Presidents Representative, who is nominated by the District Presidents. The Executive Committee meets regularly to discuss important business of LRTA between meetings of the Executive Board.

LRTA would like to thank Alva Martin for her dedication and service to the LRTA Executive Committee as the District President Representative (2018-2020), especially during extraordinary times. Ms. Martin will continue to serve her term on the LRTA Executive Board as president of District III.

On October 28, Jevella Williamson was elected as the District Presidents Representative for 2020-2022. Mrs. Williamson currently serves as president of District IV.

The LRTA Executive Committee for 2020-2022 is as follows:

Clyde Hamner, Second Vice-President

Nancy Quigley, Past President

Jevella Williamson, District Presidents Representative

“The Executive Committee has been planning and working well together since April to improve our effectiveness with the legislature,” says LRTA State President Janis Hernandez. “We welcome our new District President Representative, Jevella Williamson, to the committee and look forward to working with her.”

Congratulations to our new officers! Though we wish we could honor them in person, we are excited for our officers to begin their work to serve LRTA and MAKE RETIREMENT YEARS GREAT!
